You may have spent years being the person everyone else depends on—the caregiver, professional, parent, spouse, problem-solver, or strong one. But sometimes life changes in ways we didn't anticipate. Anxiety becomes harder to quiet. Past experiences begin affecting the present. Chronic pain changes what you're able to do. Relationships shift, children grow up, careers end, loved ones are lost, and you may find yourself wondering, Who am I in this season of my life? Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what you're experiencing, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and peace. I work with young adults, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, grief, and significant life transitions. I have a particular interest in helping women and older adults navigate changing roles, questions of identity and purpose, aging, loss, spirituality, and the emotional impact of life's unexpected transitions. My approach to therapy is collaborative and individualized. I believe healing is not one-size-fits-all, and together we will determine what is most helpful for you. Depending upon your needs, treatment may incorporate EMDR, clinical hypnosis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and an understanding of how trauma and life experiences affect the brain and nervous system. For clients who desire it, faith and spirituality can also be meaningfully incorporated into therapy. You do not have to separate your spiritual life from your emotional healing. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 18 years working in education. That experience strengthened my belief in people's capacity for growth, transformation, and change throughout every stage of life. I earned my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Alaska Anchorage and have continued advanced training in trauma-focused approaches. Outside the therapy office, I feel most at home outdoors. I'm an avid hiker, nature lover, and adventurer, and I value the perspective, grounding, and renewal that can come from connecting with the natural world. Whether you are trying to heal from the past, adjust to a life you didn't expect, manage chronic pain, reconnect with your sense of purpose, or simply find your footing again, you don't have to navigate that season alone.

Anxiety, Trauma, Addiction & Life Transitions

Helping teens and adults understand what's keeping them stuck, develop practical strategies for change, and build healthier patterns

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Works with: Teens • Young Adults • Adults
Specialties: Anxiety • Depression • Trauma • Addiction • Life Transitions
Approaches: CBT • Motivational Interviewing • Brainspotting • Insight-Oriented Therapy
Appointments: In-Person in Gillette + Telehealth Throughout Wyoming
Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield
Additional Services: Addiction Severity Index (ASI) Assessments

Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting in a room talking about feelings without knowing what to do with them. Sometimes you know something in your life isn't working, but you don't understand why you keep falling into the same patterns. You may be dealing with anxiety that won't shut off, depression that has taken away your motivation, a relationship that keeps repeating the same conflicts, substance use that has become difficult to control, or experiences from your past that continue to affect how you respond today. My goal is to help you understand what's happening beneath the surface—and then determine what you can do differently. I work with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. I especially enjoy working with adults who want to better understand themselves, identify patterns that are keeping them stuck, and make meaningful changes in their lives. My approach combines practical strategies with deeper exploration. Depending on your needs, our work may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, psychoanalytic theory, trauma-informed treatment, and Brainspotting. I also provide Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessments when appropriate. Before entering the mental health field, my background was in engineering. That experience shaped the way I approach problems: with curiosity, careful observation, and an interest in understanding how different pieces of a system affect one another. Human beings are certainly more complicated than engineering problems, but I bring that same curiosity into therapy—helping clients recognize patterns, understand what may be driving them, and identify where change is possible. I was also born and raised in Lebanon and spent years traveling and living across Europe. My cultural background has given me an appreciation for the ways family, culture, expectations, relationships, and life experiences shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. Therapy with me is collaborative, but it also has a purpose. We will work to understand where you are, what is keeping you there, and what needs to change to help you move toward the life you want. You don't need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes figuring it out is exactly where the work begins.

There are times when you can understand exactly why you feel or behave the way you do—and still can't seem to change it. You may know a relationship is unhealthy but continue finding yourself in the same patterns. You may logically know that you are capable and worthy, yet something inside still says, I'm not good enough. You may have spent years being successful, responsible, and strong while privately struggling with anxiety, shame, hypervigilance, emotional overwhelm, or the effects of experiences you thought you had already moved past. Sometimes insight isn't enough. Trauma can shape far more than our memories. Our experiences can influence the way we see ourselves, what we believe we deserve, how we respond in relationships, and how our brain and nervous system react long after the original experience has ended. I specialize in helping clients understand and heal those deeper patterns. As an EMDR Certified Therapist and trauma specialist, my work is grounded in neuroscience and an understanding of how traumatic and adverse experiences affect the brain, body, nervous system, relationships, and beliefs about ourselves. Treatment may incorporate EMDR, trauma-focused interventions, nervous-system regulation, and other evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual client. Rather than asking only, “What's wrong with me?” our work becomes curious about different questions: What happened? What did you learn about yourself because of it? And what is your brain still trying to protect you from? For many people, experiences from the past become connected to deeply held beliefs such as I'm not good enough. I'm unlovable. I'm unsafe. I don't matter. I'm powerless. I have to keep everyone happy. Those beliefs can quietly influence relationships, boundaries, anxiety, self-worth, emotional reactions, and the choices we make for years. Through specialized trauma treatment, we work toward identifying and reprocessing the experiences and negative belief networks underneath those patterns so that the past no longer has to dictate the present. My goal is not simply to help you cope better. It is to help you understand why the pattern exists, heal what is underneath it, and create the opportunity for meaningful and lasting change. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDR Consultant and Trainer, and an award-winning clinician recognized for my work in the mental health and trauma-treatment field. I also provide professional consultation to EMDR-trained clinicians seeking to strengthen their clinical skills, case conceptualization, and confidence when working with complex trauma. You cannot change what happened to you. But you can change what those experiences are allowed to mean about who you are today.

For many people, the goal of therapy isn't simply to learn how to cope with life as it is. It's to experience something different. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, struggling to feel connected to your partner, carrying experiences from your past into your present, or wondering why understanding the problem hasn't been enough to actually change it. I believe healing happens through experience, connection, and the opportunity to create a different story. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 18 years of experience working with individuals and couples, I specialize in experiential therapy—helping people identify and transform the narratives and relational patterns that interfere with connection to themselves and the people who matter most. Whether the struggle exists within a marriage, family, dating relationship, workplace, or within your relationship with yourself, we will look beyond the immediate symptom to understand the experiences and patterns underneath it. There are many therapeutic approaches that can provide valuable coping skills. While coping has its place, my purpose in therapy goes further: I want to help create a healing experience. I believe that regardless of the story, experience, loss, or tragedy someone has lived through, there remains an opportunity to restore hope and begin writing something different. In addition to my work at Wyoming Center for Clinical Excellence, I serve as a guide with Onsite Workshops in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, and Onsite at The Oaks in San Diego, California. These nationally recognized experiential treatment programs provide immersive therapeutic experiences addressing trauma, grief, anxiety, relationships, and personal growth. Through individual therapy, couples work, group experiences, and intensive treatment, my role is not to tell you what your story should become. It is to walk alongside you as we understand the story you've been living, recognize what is no longer serving you, and create opportunities for something new. You may come to therapy looking for better ways to cope. My hope is that you leave having experienced something deeper: greater connection, healing, and restored hope.
